The first annual River City Film Festival was a tremendous success! A HUGE thank you to all the filmmakers that participated, everyone who came out to the show, and our excellent crew and volunteers. We couldn’t have done it without any of you!
Also, special thanks go out to our keynote speaker, Louie Cowan and to our special Q&A guests, Josh Crook (Salvage) and Peter John Ross (Horrors of War).
We’re extremely pleased with the turnout for a first-year event and all the wonderful comments we received from both filmmakers and patrons. We had reservations about whether we could pull off creating a theatre experience in a converted ballroom, but it seems we did it.
We’ve posted the winners in all categories and classes here, so check ‘em out.
Again, thanks to everyone who made all this possible. And watch this space (and sign up for the mailing list) for updates on 2007!

We have officially released our official selections and finalized screening schedule, which you can see here. We got many great submissions from all over the country and the selection process was not an easy one.
For those that were selected, congratulations and we hope you’ll be able to attend the festival to see your film screened.
If you were not selected, please know that we carefully reviewed each film and because of the limited number of timeslots, simply could not accept as many films as we would’ve liked. We hope you will still attend, and as a token of our appreciation, two VIP passes will be waiting for you at the door.
Congratulations again to our selections and good luck at the festival!

Well, September 1st came and went, and our submission period is now closed. Wow, were we really impressed, both by the amount of films submitted and their overall quality. The festival committee is hurredly reviewing all films and we should be making announcements for official selections early the week of September 11th.
A couple other things to note. We’ve just posted information on this year’s awards and prizes. We think as a first-year event we came up with some good stuff. Plus we’re still working on some additional giveaways or freebies for attendees.
Also, the host for this event, The Lafayette Hotel, has created a special for festival attendees. If you book a room the 29th and/or 30th with them, we’ll throw in two free passes!
One more thing, we’ll be selling advance tickets online any day now, so keep watching for that. You’ll also be able to buy them at People’s News on Putnam and Third in Marietta.
More soon, including official selections and detailed schedules for both days!
Update: Tickets now available for sale online!

Attention filmmakers! There are only three more weeks left to submit to the first annual River City Film Festival. We’re very happy with the amount (and quality) of submissions so far, but if you haven’t submitted yet, there’s still time.
So stop wastin’ time on the Internet, pick up your camera and go make something! We’ll wait…..
Done? Okay, now just make your submission online and mail us your film!
PS: We’ll be posting more details on the festival schedule and (more importantly) the awards in the next couple days.
